Dedicated Transportation Manager (CLM)

Position Description
Ryder has an immediate need for a Transportation Manager Internally titled (Customer Logistics Manager) to provide frontline leadership to a group of dedicated drivers in a fast paced environment. As the Transportation Manager, you are the key link between the business, drivers and customers. In this safety focused role, you will be accountable for fielding calls from drivers and working one-on-one to solve problems with creative solutions that exceed customer expectations and company objectives. This position broadens your industry knowledge which in turn drives your career to limitless opportunities and positions you for interesting challenges.
Responsibilities:
+ Management of 25 dedicated drivers on average.
+ Dynamic routing as needed (High percentage of the routes remain the same).
+ Provides daily operational updates for dedicated customer management.
+ Update dispatch platforms to ensure accuracy of routes.
+ Coordinates with both internal and external customers to determine and fill needs for drivers and equipment.
+ Plans and dispatches drivers in dedicated fleet.
+ Provides supervision, training and leadership to drivers to insure good customer service.
+ Trains and counsels drivers on late pickups/deliveries, safety, and overall Ryder policies.
+ Promotes compliance with DOT requirements and Ryder?s safety program.
+ Coordinates between drivers and shop to ensure all maintenance issues are satisfied.
+ Manages vacation and time-off requests based on driver, company and customer needs.
+ Works with billing, payroll and special reporting requirements as related to the dedicated business.
+ Other duties as may be assigned
+ Maintains working knowledge of all dedicated business-thru cross training as needed to assist during peak business or staffing challenges.
Requirements
+ Associates degree or 4 years of related experience is required
+ Advanced Level Skills in MS Excel such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and text
+ Minimum 1 (one) year of supervisory experience required
+ Experience with ground transportation operations including DOT, OSHA and all related safety regulations
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Bachelor's degree preferred
+ Three to five years experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse or industry related field is preferred
+ Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment (i.e., Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch preferred)
+ Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems preferred
+ Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
